Puglia Experience

IF YOU LOVE PUGLIA,
PUGLIA LOVES YOU BACK

Welcoming in Winter

In winter, Puglia offers unique and original experiences. Iconic living cribs that blend the history of our rural communities in stunning masserias in Puglia. The unmistakable taste of our Christmas dessert, the “cartellata” dipped in creamy fig vincotto. The colours, masks and parade floats of the Carnival of Putignano, the oldest in Italy. A stroll in the old town of Bari, “Bari vecchia”, to experience the beauty of the ancient Church of San Nicola, “panzerotti” and tasty “sgagliozze”. Do not hesitate! Puglia in winter is full of life!

Charming in Spring

Puglia rediscovers its own special light in spring. The season of awakening, the first walks on the sandy golden beaches and the sea fruit to eat exactly there, where the sea breaks on the rocks. Spring is the season of culture. The best moment to visit the city of Lecce and its Baroque Art or to experience the evocative sacred representation on Good Friday in Taranto. Spring brings back its intense green, among the other colours, which embraces the gray of the dry-stone walls, kissed by a gracious warm sun.

Glowing in Summer

Puglia is summer. Its queen season. The season of the sea and its brackish water, the scorching stones beaten by the sun, the inebriating smell of roasted fish in the lanes of the white villages.

Summer is the season of “pizzica” and the traditional music, handed down thanks to the wisdom and love of the elderly.

Sublime in Autumn

Autumn in Puglia has the scent of must and oil mills, the mushrooms picked in the woods of the whole Murgia area and the first “ragù”, a typical Italian meat sauce, that invades and refreshes our senses. Autumn is the period of the typical festivals, the so-called “sagre”, with young wine, roast chestnut, juicy “zampina” sausages and dry figs in glass jars. The prickly pears colour the Apulian countryside. Autumn is also the right moment for lighting up a fireplace to make the famous bruschetta, a roasted piece of bread seasoned with freshly pressed olive oil, cherry tomatoes and “ricotta forte” cheese.
